The Funhouse, in collaboration with the Coalition for Orcas Youth, will be hosting an online parenting workshop called “Guiando Buenas Decisiones,” or “Guiding Good Choices,” for Spanish-speaking parents, beginning Nov 5.
Contact trillium@thefunhouse.org for details and to sign up.
This is a 5-week Zoom-based program which uses a curriculum that was designed by the University of Washington and utilizes the social development strategy to help parents create opportunities for bonding and promote clear standards for behavior, in order to reduce drug use and other risky stuff.
An experienced facilitator from WWU will be leading it, Ana Maria Martinez, assisted by two Orcas parents, Pamela Jimenez and Flor Orantes. They are working to get an English version of Guiding Good Choices delivered in January 2021.
